Politics Vallejo hires new human resources director

Vallejo has named Heather Ruiz as its new human resources director, City Hall announced early Friday morning. Ruiz currently serves as director of human resources for Napa County, a position she has held for about three years, Vallejo officials said.

Ruiz earned a Masters degree in public administration from California State University, Hayward and completed her undergraduate education at the University of California, Los Angeles.


WAPA Names Gottlieb and Leonce to Senior Staff

Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority (WAPA) Executive Director Lawrence J. Kupfer announced on June 1 the appointments of WAPA’s chief financial officer and human resources director, filling two vacancies on the company’s senior management team.

Debra E. Gottlieb has been appointed CFO. She holds a master’s degree in public administration and a bachelor’s degree in history. Sabrina King Leonce will serve as director of human resources. She holds a Master of Science degree in human resource management and a Bachelor of Arts degree in behavioral science.  Both will begin their tenure this month.

KeyCorp sets chief human resources officer transition

KeyCorp (NYSE: KEY) is getting a new chief human resources officer.

The Cleveland-based financial services company announced that Brian Fishel will take that job in the second half of 2018 upon the retirement of the current chief human resources officer, Craig Buffie. The two men “will work together over the next several months to ensure a smooth transition,” Key said in a news release.

At KeyCorp he has led all staffing, training, talent management and employee development activities. He holds both bachelors and master’s degrees in education from Miami University.

Archer named new Pierce County Human Resources director

Following a nationwide search, Pierce County has selected Judith C. Archer to be director of Human Resources.

Archer joins the County from Kinder Morgan, Inc., where she served nearly eight years as the director of Human Resources for the Texas-based energy infrastructure company and its 11,000 employees.

Archer earned a B.A. in Business Administration from Maryville College, a Masters’ of Science in Adult Education from the University of Tennessee, and a J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law.
