Virginia Tech hires UVa administrator to be human resources chief

ROANOKE — Virginia Tech has hired a University of Virginia administrator as its top human resources executive.

Bryan Garey, assistant vice president of human resources for talent at UVa, will assume the position of vice president for human resources at Tech, effective Sept. 17.

Garey has worked in administrative positions at UVa for the last 10 years. He brings 25 years of human relations experience to the position.


Milford picks Giffin for its first human resources director

MILFORD – Selectmen have made their pick for the town’s first human resources director, if final negotiations are successful.

Milford native Maureen Giffin received the board’s unanimous approval Monday night, immediately following a round of interviews with the finalists.

Giffin holds a master’s degree in human resource management and currently holds a job as human resources director at the Dedham Hilton hotel.
