DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – The College of St. Scholastica has announced the appointment of Myron S. McCoo as Vice President for Human Resources and Chief Diversity Officer.
McCoo comes to St. Scholastica from University of Cincinnati (UC) Health, an 11,000-employee academic medical system in Ohio, where he has served as Assistant Vice President of Human Resources and Corporate Diversity Officer. Prior to his role at UC Health, McCoo served as a human resources executive for the Yale New Haven Health System (Bridgeport Hospital) in Connecticut
Groton — Groton Town Manager John Burt will not receive the raise he requested and then withdrew, but the Town Council has extended his contract one year, added a mileage reimbursement and promoted the human resources director to give him assistant town manager duties.
Councilors said they believe Burt is dedicated to the town. Burt’s contract, which originally ran from July 5, 2017, until July 4, 2022, would be extended until 2023.
Elaine Doell has begun work at UNCW as assistant vice chancellor for human resources. In that role, she serves as operations manager for the Office of Human Resources. She reports to Associate Vice Chancellor for Human Resources Liz Grimes.
Doell came to UNCW from East Carolina University, where she was an advanced classification and compensation consultant. Prior to that, she served as chief human resources officer for Cape Fear Community College at Plymouth State University in New Hampshire.
She earned her an M.B.A. from Plymouth State and has SHRM-SCP professional certification, as well as extensive professional training in the HR field.
