City welcomes Keri Smith as new Human Resources Specialist

–On Nov 27, the City of Paso Robles welcomed Keri Smith as the new Human Resources Specialist to the Administrative services Department. Smith was raised in Apple Valley, CA, and obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources (HR) Management from San Diego State University in 2010. Smith has since worked in many HR capacities, most recently as Human Resources Generalist for Hogue Tool and Machine, Inc.


Broward Health Appoints New Corporate Chief Human Resources Officer

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Broward Health has announced the addition of Kiera Page, MLER as the new corporate chief human resources officer.

Smetana named to Human Resources role

Erik Smetana has been named executive director for compensation and talent for Vanderbilt University Human Resources. Smetana, most recently associate vice president and deputy chief HR officer for the University of Missouri system, will join Vanderbilt Human Resources on Jan. 3 and will help lead strategic and operating initiatives that seamlessly integrate HR’s consulting functions involving job design, classification, compensation, candidate sourcing, and hiring to help ensure that hiring units across campus can recruit and retain great employees.

Smetana is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) as well as the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources (CUPA-HR), and he sits on the research advisory committee of the national board of CUPA-HR.


Home Health VNA names new human resources manager


Chanel Adu, of Burlington, has been named human resources manager for Home Health Foundation, which consists of Home Health VNA, Merrimack Valley Hospice and HomeCare Inc.

In this role, Adu will oversee the staffing, compensation, benefits and employee relations activities for one of the largest home health and hospice agencies in the region. In addition, Adu will be responsible for employee engagement and retention and the advancement of corporate culture initiatives across all three companies.


Deborah Deters Named EVP – Chief Human Resources Officer at Heartland Financial USA, Inc.

Pfitzinger Takes Over As City HR Director

Shauna Pfitzinger has taken over the human resources (HR) duties for the city of Washington.

Pfitzinger, 40, recently was hired by the city to fill a newly created position. She started Nov. 1 as the human resources generalist for the city.

Pfitzinger said she was excited to work for the city. A St. Clair native, she has been a Washington resident for the last 17 years.

“I’m going to handle everything from hiring, to training, to disciplinary actions to benefits,” she said. “Really everything in the day-to-day HR world.”


Chandler Joins Heritage Bank & Trust as Human Resources Officer

Heritage Bank & Trust has welcomed Letha Chandler as the newest member of the bank’s team.

Chandler serves as the bank’s human resources officer, a position involving benefits administration, training and development, as well as employee relations.

Chandler completed the Barrett School of Banking Human Resources Management Program earlier this year and is a Society of Human Resources Management Certified Professional.
