TORRANCE — Jane Miyashiro was recently named El Camino College’s new vice president of human resources.

The El Camino Community College District Board of Trustees approved her appointment at its May 22 meeting; she began her new position July 3. Miyashiro is a human resources professional with 18 years of experience within higher education. She most recently served as the vice president for human resources and development at Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles. She previously worked in human resources management at USC for 15 years.

Cox Communications said it has named Karen Bennett executive vice president and chief human resources officer, replacing Len Barlik who was recently promoted to chief operating officer at the cable company.

Thief River Falls principal named head of Digi-Key human resources

THIEF RIVER FALLS, Minn. — A Thief River Falls school principal will head Digi-Key Electronics’ human resources department as the major distributor refocuses leadership responsibilities to accommodate a multi-million-dollar expansion.

After serving Lincoln High School for eight years, Shane Zutz will become the director of human resources at Digi-Key, the school announced last week. His last day with the school is Aug. 4, he said Monday, July 10.
